Breast Augmentation: For Your Satisfaction

Breast Augmentation: For Your Satisfaction

A recent study published in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ medical journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, demonstrates a strong correlation between elective breast augmentation and a woman’s satisfaction and quality of life. At Midsota Plastic Surgery, this comes as no surprise to our team of plastic surgeons, who, over their many years of practice, have seen the positive impact that a successful augmentation can have on a woman’s well-being.

‘Understanding the Effect of Breast Augmentation of Quality of Life’

The study set out to evaluate and quantify a woman’s quality of life before and after augmentation. Taking part in the study were 611 female patients, averaging 33.5 years old. Of these, 73 percent of the women opted for silicone-filled implants. The overall average implant was 350cc. Researchers used BREAST-Q, a highly reliable questionnaire and metrics tools to accurately measure study results. Each woman completed the BREAST-Q questionnaire three times: once prior to their augmentation and twice after: six weeks and six months post operation (*).

Post-surgery, researchers found significant improvement in the women’s:

  • Satisfaction with their breasts
  • Psychological well being
  • Sexual well being

In fact, participants’ satisfaction with their breasts nearly tripled. This led researchers to conclude that, “breast augmentation is associated with high patient satisfaction and significant improvements in quality of life”.

Your Breast Augmentation

Simply put, the ultimate goal of a breast augmentation is to enlarge the breast area using an implant. However, augmentation is rarely that simple. Just as each woman is unique, so is her augmentation. As a fully customizable procedure, your surgeon will carefully tailor your look around your augmentation goals. Working closely with you, our team takes the time to develop a surgical approach distinct to your body type. Together, your surgeon will help you consider factors such as:

  • Size of the Implant
  • Type of Implant
  • Placement of Implant
  • Surgical Entry Point

We understand the importance of each decision and will do our best to provide wisdom and guidance as you go along.

What plastic surgeons have known for years has now been confirmed. As the study shows, the benefits of breast augmentation extend far beyond aesthetics. Post-augmentation, women tend to be increasingly comfortable and confident with their bodies. Are you ready for a confidence boost?
